1996 Olympics Souvenir Card
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing, which prints the nation's currency and many of its stamps, produced this souvenir card to mark the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. The card shows a block of four 3-cent stamps printed by the BEP and issued by the Post Office Department in 1932 to commemorate the 10th Olympics in Los Angeles, Calif. The BEP had a booth at OLYMPHILEX '96, where copies could be purchased. Some collectors attached a Centennial Olympics stamp to the souvenir card and had Postal Service clerks apply the official first day of issue cancellation, as shown above.
