Gene Talmadge Deplores Death Eugene Talmadge, formerly governor, last night deplored the death of Pres. Roosevelt and said: "I have known him personally for 20 years. I regret his death very much. I feel sure that congress and President Truman will carry on the war to the best interests of America."
