Belgium 1920 Discobolus Stamp

Belgium, host of the 1920 Olympic Games, issued this stamp showing Discobolus as part of a set of three semi-postal stamps to commemorate the 1920 Olympics. A semi-postal stamp is one that carries a surcharge in addition to the amount for postage, with the surcharge generally used for charity. In this case, the stamp was valued at 5 centimes for postage plus a 5 centimes surcharge to benefit Belgain soldiers wounded in World War I.
