Charlton County Historic Population Profile

Charlton County was created from Camden County on Feb. 18, 1854 by an act of the General Assembly. Portions of Ware County were added in 1855. In 1856, the boundary between Charlton and Camden counties was readjusted, with each county gaining and losing land. Portons of Charlton County were used to create Brantley County in 1920 .
