      Old Baker County Courthouse

Location: N. Main St. at E. Washington Ave., Newton

Date Built: 1900

Architectural Style: Romanesque Revival

Designer: J.W. Golucke

Other Information: Renovations to the 1900 courthouse were required because of major flooding of the Flint River in 1925, 1929, and 1994. After the 1994 flood, county offices moved out of the building and into a vacant school building. After repairs to the 1900 courthouse, the building was transformed into the library and office space for several public service agencies.
