Old Chattahoochee County Courthouse

        Old Chattahoochee Courthouse

Other Information: Cusseta was designated county seat of Chattahoochee County in 1854, and at some point thereafter this large 2-story, wooden courthouse was built there (see sketch of original courthouse). Desiring a more modern structure, county officials in 1974 agreed to the moving of the old courthouse to Westville, a reconstructed 1850-era Georgia town consisting of restored homes and other buildings moved to the site near the town of Lumpkin in Stewart County. The State Bar of Georgia sponsored the restoration of the old Chattahoochee County courthouse at Westville.
