Lack of space in the Colquitt County courthouse led to the county commission to approve construction of a courthouse annex on the corner across the street from courthouse square. R.R. "Rusty" McCall, Jr. was architect of the new building. Construction began in 2001, with dedication ceremonies held April 27, 2003.
