Other Information: The two-story courthouse with cupola was built by slave labor in 1856. It was located in the center of a block bounded by Jackson St. on the west, Washington St. on the east, Flint St. on the north, and Pine St. on the south. Located on the northeast corner of the block was the county jail. This courthouse was replaced by a new building in 1904,
