Other Information: After Fayette County's courthouse suffered serious fire damage in 1983, construction of a new courthouse annex was begun in 1983. Completed in 1985, the annex became the new courthouse and county government center that year. Continuing growth of the county led county officials to authorize construction of a new county government administration complex. Construction of the large facility began in 1991 and was completed the following year.
