Newton County Courthouse -- Early 1900s

 

This caption on the photo of this postcard states, "Endurance Race Entertaining Savannah Auto Club, Covington, Ga." There is no postmark or other identification markings to indicate the date of the card or photo. However, the U.S. flag over the entrance to the courthouse is the 45-star flag that flew from 1896 to 1908. The address side of the postcard has a space for a personal message (which federal law prohibited until March 1907), so this photo likely was taken in 1907 or 1908.
