Stewart County Courthouse Postcard

Stewart County Courthouse -- Early 1900s

This postcard, published by the New Drug Store of Lumpkin, Ga., shows a black-and-white photo that has been hand-tinted in color. The postcard contains no postmark or other means of identifying the date of its printing and use. However, the address side of the card has a space for a personal message, which federal law only allowed after March 1907. Of course, the photo could have been taken earlier. From its appearance, the photo was probably taken in the first -- and possible second -- decade of the 20th century.
