Old Stewart County Courthouse

Old Stewart County Courthouse -- Early 1900s

Shown above is a photo of Stewart County's third courthouse, which was built in the 1895 and used until it burned in 1923. The postcard has an Aug. 9, 1908 postmark from Lumpkin, Ga. Because there is a space on the address side for a personal message (something prohibited by federal law until March 1907), the photo likely dates from 1907-1910 or soon afterwards.
