Etowah River

The Etowah River originates in Lumpkin County, flows southward for a short stretch, then turns westward. In Floyd County it converges with the Oostanaula River to form the Coosa River. The Coosa River continues flowing westward, into Alabama, where it joins with the Tallapoosa River to form the Alabama River, which flows southward into the Gulf of Mexico.
