Settlement of Florida Stamp

Settlement of Flordia Commemorative Stamp

This stamp was issued in 1965 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Pedro Menéndez de Aviles and the first Spanish colonists on the east coast of La Florida. Here, they settled at a site named St. Augustine. Presumably, they brought a variant of the flag of Castile and Léon.
