Official First Day of Issue Cancel for Georgia State Flag Stamp

This is the cancel applied at official first day of issue ceremonies held in Washington D.C. in conjunction with the winter meeting of the National Governors Conference on Feb. 23, 1976. In addition, there were special first day of issue cancellations at ceremonies held in each state capital. Also, because the stamp was released nationwide, any Feb. 23 postmark would be considered an unofficial first day of issue cancellation.
