Unofficial Georgia State Flags Prior to 1879

Two Versions of Georgia's Unofficial State Flag
(18?? - 1879)

While multi-color coats of arms were likely used on some versions of Georgia's unofficial state flag in use prior to 1879, many of the flags probably used a single color for the coat of arms. Above are versions of the flag with the coat of arms in gold and in white -- the two colors most likely used. Undoubtedly, the amount of detail actually shown on the coat of arms varied with each flag maker.
