Josiah Tattnall, Jr.

1764 -1803

Career: fought in the Revolutionary War, and afterwards rose to rank of brigadier general in the Georgia state miltia; served Georgia as in the state House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and as Georgia governor. Tattnall County created and named in his honor in 1801.
