Robert Milledge Charlton

Robert Milledge Charlton was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1807. He served Georgia in several different capacities - State Representative, U.S. District Attorney, superior court judge, U.S. Senator, and mayor of Savannah. He died in Savannah in 1854; Charlton County was named in his honor that same year.
