("Stars and Bars")

(1861-1863)

This Stars and Bars flag carried by the Cherokee Dragons had eleven stars -- but arranged in a staggered, non-circular pattern. The reverse of the flag is a white field with an embroidered wreath and the name "Cherokee Dragons" [see photo]. This flag is in the collection of the National Park Service at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.
