Crawford Long Statue
Crawford Long Statue

 
Statue of Dr. Crawford Long located on the Madison County courthouse square in Danielsville, Ga. Long, who in 1842 became the first physician to use anesthesia during surgery, was born in Danielsville in 1815. [Click here for a biography of Long.] The marble statue was erected in 1936.
