![]() | In addition to serving as the center of state government, Georgia's capitol houses the State Museum on the fourth floor. |
![]() | Before touring the museum, the group visited the office of Governor Miller. Unfortunately, he was out of town on state business, but his staff allowed the delegation into Governor Miller's private office. |
![]() | A granite bust of General Oglethorpe is situated on a landing between the second and third floors of the capitol. Naturally, this presented an ideal "photo opportunity" for the group. |
![]() | Next, Dorothy took the group to the fourth floor for a preview of special exhibits about Georgia under construction in preparation for Olympics visitors this summer. |
![]() | The capitol also houses the chambers of both houses of Georgia's General Assembly. Here, in the Senate chamber, Secretary of the Senate Frank Eldridge (right) and Senator Eric Johnson of Savannah (left) discussed the role and powers of Georgia's upper house. |
