International Center for Democratic Governance
International Public Service Faculty Position

The Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia invites applications for a Public Service Faculty position in its International Center for Democratic Governance. The position carries rank in the public service faculty career ladder of the University.

The International Center is focused on training government officials from foreign countries in transition and promoting effective governance internationally. This position will be responsible for developing new programs of training/outreach/policy research with a focus on the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and/or Latin America in one or more major policy areas related to governance (e.g. public health, finance, environment).

The successful candidate will have experience in international training/technical assistance for government officials on issues of public management or policy, and an established record of publications. Government work experience is preferred. A Ph.D. or Juris Doctor degree is required. International travel is required.

Candidates should be capable of initiating new projects that will garner external funding from government or private sources. Candidate should also be willing to contribute to ongoing training programs at the International Center and in the Vinson Institute.

Compensation will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. Deadline for applications is January 7, 2008.
