Dr. Fertig is an economist with a research interest in families and health. Her projects involve examining divorce, prenatal behavior, childhood obesity, homelessness, public housing, child support enforcement, child care, and domestic violence.

Dr. Fertig is also an assistant professor in the College of Public Health at UGA. Before coming to UGA, Dr. Fertig was an assistant professor of economics at Indiana University in Bloomington and a postdoctoral research associate at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy at Princeton University.
