For more than 80 years, the Vinson Institute has worked with public officials throughout Georgia and around the world to improve governance and people's lives. From Georgia's early days as a largely agrarian state with a modest population to its modern-day status as a national and international force in business, industry, and politics with a population of almost 10 million, the Institute has helped government leaders navigate change and forge strong directions for a better Georgia.

Stephanie Bales

Business Manager
Governmental Training, Education, and Development

Stephanie Bales joined the Institute in 2008 and has been employed at the University since 1984. At the Institute, she is the business manager of the Governmental, Training, Education, and Development division. Her major areas of responsibility are management and administration of the unit, including planning, organizing, and directing financial, accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and supervising operations. Prior to joining the Institute, Mrs. Bales spent almost 25 years in the College of Education where she served in a number of roles on the COE Staff Representative Group. In 2002, she was the recipient of the College of Education Staff Award for Excellence, the highest award given to a staff member within the college.
