For more than 80 years, the Vinson Institute has worked with public officials throughout Georgia and around the world to improve governance and people's lives. From Georgia's early days as a largely agrarian state with a modest population to its modern-day status as a national and international force in business, industry, and politics with a population of almost 10 million, the Institute has helped government leaders navigate change and forge strong directions for a better Georgia.

Michael Hourihan

Governmental Training, Education, and Development

Michael Hourihan provides management, organizational development, leadership, and special topic training for state and local elected officials, managers, supervisors, and staff. He also facilitates meetings and retreats for staff and elected government officials and serves as a mediator for internal and external organizations. Mr. Hourihan spent more than 25 years in various management roles in the public and private sectors and has served as a business coach at the managerial level. Prior to coming to the Institute, he spent 10 years as president of Complete Solutions LLC, a leadership and organizational development company.

Areas of expertise: management and leadership development, strategic planning, project management, team building, conflict management, business/personal ethics, and interview/selection techniques
