For more than 80 years, the Vinson Institute has worked with public officials throughout Georgia and around the world to improve governance and people's lives. From Georgia's early days as a largely agrarian state with a modest population to its modern-day status as a national and international force in business, industry, and politics with a population of almost 10 million, the Institute has helped government leaders navigate change and forge strong directions for a better Georgia.

Betty Hudson

Betty Hudson provides assistance and legal expertise to state and local governments on a wide range of topics related to governmental organization, administration, and operations. She has extensive experience with projects related to ordinance, charter, and statute review and development and form of government. Before joining the Institute, Ms. Hudson worked in the Office of Legislative Counsel with the Georgia General Assembly, where she drafted general and local legislation, conducted legal research, and provided legal assistance to legislative committees. She was also part of the staff that produced the Official Code of Georgia Annotated from 1979 to1982. She is a registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.
