For more than 80 years, the Vinson Institute has worked with public officials throughout Georgia and around the world to improve governance and people's lives. From Georgia's early days as a largely agrarian state with a modest population to its modern-day status as a national and international force in business, industry, and politics with a population of almost 10 million, the Institute has helped government leaders navigate change and forge strong directions for a better Georgia.

Sherri Lawless

Governmental Training, Education, and Development

Sherri Lawless conducts a full range of management development training for municipal, county, and state government officials and employees. In addition, she conducts training on specific topics and facilitates meetings and retreats. Dr. Lawless also contributes to the Institute’s International Center by conducting management development and leadership training to visiting foreign delegations and abroad. She has nearly 20 years of previous practitioner experience in administration and management, having served in local government organizations of varying sizes, primarily in departments of budgeting, internal auditing, and management analysis. Before joining the Institute, she was director of internal auditing and management analysis for the City of Savannah.
