Feature — Georgia Legislative Leadership Institute
Since 2005, the Georgia Legislative Leadership Institute (GLLI) has prepared members of the Georgia General Assembly to be effective leaders and decision makers in today's complex legislative environment. GLLI is an extension of the Vinson Institute's Biennial Institute, developed and authorized by the Georgia General Assembly Training Institute.
The purpose of GLLI is to help new legislators develop the skills necessary to become effective leaders and wise policy analysts. The curriculum includes two sessions, which focus on personal leadership skills and development and the application of those skills to complicated issues facing the state. Personal and group problem-solving also are analyzed.
Every two years, the leadership of the House and Sensate select a group of 25 members from the General Assembly to participate in the program. GLLI is sponsored by the Vinson Institute and the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation.
