Contact: Betty Hudson, hudson@cviog.uga.edu; 706.542.6247

The Ethics Ordinances Study was initiated on request from Gwinnett County commissioners as part of a planning process for the future of the county. In order to provide information that would be of maximum usefulness to Gwinnett officials, the study was narrowed to an examination of seven other Georgia counties and 13 nationally that are comparable in size to Gwinnett. The ethics ordinances for each county were reviewed and analyzed with regard to the key issues identified for the study.

The final report also includes questions posed in interviews with Gwinnett officials and options for establishing a permanent ethics board and for an employee ethics education program. [Report]
