In 2003, the International Center hosted a delegation representing several Bulgarian NGOs for a two-week community-based citizen advocacy training program. The program for 12 Bulgarian NGO representatives on NGO advocacy strategies was implemented in partnership with World Learning through a grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The program was designed to expose the representatives to strategies used by U.S.-based NGOs. The group met with a variety of NGO leaders from around the state working on issues of the environment, human services, economic development, youth services, finance, and community enhancement.
