University of Georgia students can experience the language, culture, and academic environment of China through the Shanghai Municipal Scholarship Summer School Fudan Program (SSSFP). Participants in this four-week program will expand their horizons while attending courses at Shanghai's Fudan University on Chinese language, history, government, economy, and culture.

2011 SSSFP Course Schedule

The Shanghai Municipal Government and Fudan University have awarded the Institute three student scholarships for the 2011 program. Each scholarship will cover tuition at Fudan University, fees for textbooks, accommodations during the program, a Fudan University dining card with 200 RMB, and cultural activities while in Shanghai. UGA students are responsible for their own airfare, visa fees, and personal expenses beyond those covered by the scholarship.

The Vinson Institute's International Center has a rich history of work with Chinese officials and students. It has provided training for municipal and provincial officials throughout China for more than ten years with its China Public Management Training Program. The center also hosts a number of visiting scholars from China each year. The Vinson Institute will conduct a competitive selection process to choose the three UGA students for this program. For more information about the SSSFP or the scholarship program, application procedures, and details of the four-week itinerary, contact Rusty Brooks, director of the International Center.
