In 2008, the International Center conducted a one-week training for Sudanese officials in Washington, D.C. The group of 22 officials included a wide range of individuals in the pubic finance community and others engaged in capacity building and the rebuilding of the country’s infrastructure and economy. Topics covered during the four days devoted to pubic financial management included government budgeting, government accounting systems, and the organization of financial information, revenue policy and administration, and internal controls and auditing.
