State Training

State employees can take their knowledge and leadership skills to the next level through the Institute's many state training programs, from professional development programs that cover a broad array of financial, legislative, and special topics, to certification programs in leadership and management.

Introduction to Leadership

Participants in this powerful one-day course will get an introduction to the basic skills needed for successful leadership in state government. They will learn about the importance of communication and different communication styles. They will also address the roles of power and influence in leadership and discuss methods for handling conflict constructively and improving team performance.
