State and local governments can make more informed decisions and achieve greater efficiency in their operations with the help of geographic information systems (GIS). The Vinson Institute's Office of Information Technology Outreach Services (ITOS) is a leader in GIS innovation in Georgia and nationwide.

GIS Training

Geographic information systems (GIS) are strong tools when they have strong administrators and users behind them. ITOS can train your employees in data input and system use to ensure the proper maintenance of the GIS. ITOS also coordinates certified ESRI training.

Contract Training

Customized training teaches government employees how to use GIS to their full potential. Teaching centers on integrating GIS data with preexisting data in local governments such as tax assessment records, permit records, road maintenance, addresses, and other electronic datasets.

Certified ESRI Training

ITOS can assist in facilitating certified Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI) training with authorized instructors. Classes are available in ArcView, ArcGIS, Programming for ESRI software, ArcView extensions, and other topics. ITOS's computer training lab accommodates up to 12 students.
