The seminar attendees got a presidential perspective via FDR reenactor Thomas Wentland.

Suzanne Pike, Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) ranger, speaking, has a personal connection to the historic pools which she is describing to the teachers. She was sent there for therapy as a very young child and participated in the famous Thanksgiving dinners that FDR held at Warm Springs.

The Civilian Conservation Corps was an important program of the New Deal. Seminar teachers learned more about the CCC from DNR interpretive ranger Jody Rice. This session took place at Dowdell's Knob, FDR's favorite picnic spot in what is now F.D. Roosevelt State Park outside Warm Springs.
