Civic education workshops conducted by the Vinson Institute help participants enhance their knowledge and skills for teaching about Georgia and U.S. government, Georgia history, and law-related education.

We the People Advanced Workshop
This special workshop is for high school teachers who have already completed at least a one-day workshop in the We the People program. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with scholars on the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and public policy. It will also provide new ideas for planning and implementing the classroom simulations for We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution and Project Citizen.

Georgia State Government Teacher Seminar, June 23-25, 2008
This three-day seminar focuses on grassroots civic education using Georgia state government as a case study. Political scientists, historians, and practitioners will make presentations and lead discussions. Teachers will discover effective ways to introduce state government into the classroom and learn new approaches for teaching. Seminar includes study visits to the State Capitol and the Georgia Supreme Court. Participating teachers receive two professional learning units (PLUs) while learning how to effectively bring state government instruction into the classroom.
