Approximately 30 students from Georgia's public and private universities and colleges get firsthand experience in the lawmaking process if they are selected to participate in the Georgia Legislative Intern Program. The annual program is coordinated by the Vinson Institute in cooperation with the Georgia General Assembly and the Department of Political Science at Georgia State University.

State Program Director

William R. Thomas, Associate Professor Emeritus, has been a member of the Department of Political Science at Atlanta's Georgia State University since 1971 and state director of the Georgia Legislative Intern Program since 1986.
