The Building, Land, and Lease Inventory of Property (BLLIP) created by Institute specialists for the Georgia State Properties Commission has received the 2007 Innovation Award from the National Association of State Facilities Administrators. On the request of Gov. Sonny Perdue, Information Technology Outreach Division staff created a database that allows building authority personnel to easily access and update information on its more than 1,600 leased properties, 15,017 owned buildings, and 1.1 million acres of owned land, according to Eric McRae, division administrator and newly named state property officer.

"BLLIP is an interactive web-based geographical information system designed to enable registered users to query, search, and generate reports using real-time information about state properties and buildings," McRae explains. Included in the application is the ability to local real property assets by geo-coded information and to graphically view this information on a map, he adds. Current aerial photographs and relevant PDF files (e.g., deeds) are also available.
