"The Prison Pipeline: the Criminalization of America's Children" will be held November 6, 2007, from 3:30-5:30 in Room 101 of the University of Georgia's Student Learning Center. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. The symposium is also registered as a Blue Card event with the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.

Prison pipeline for America's children to be focus of November symposium

The University of Georgia's Child and Family Policy Initiative, coordinated by the Vinson Institute and the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, is sponsoring a symposium examining how children in the United States are being channeled into the juvenile and criminal justice systems directly from their schools and neighborhoods. Researchers and practitioners will present information about this national trend, along with policy implications.
