University of Georgia students who are interested in gaining firsthand experience in Georgia's lawmaking process should apply now for the 2009 Georgia Legislative Intern Program. Approximately 30 students from the state's public and private universities and colleges are selected each year for the program, which is coordinated by the Vinson Institute in cooperation with the Georgia General Assembly and the Department of Political Science at Georgia State University.
Basic requirements for the program include legal Georgia residency and U.S. citizenship and junior or senior academic status at the time of the internship. The deadline for applications for the 2009 Georgia Legislative Intern Program is March 28, 2008. Interviews will be held on April 17, 2008.
