About Us

For more than 80 years, the Vinson Institute has worked with public officials throughout Georgia and around the world to improve governance and people's lives. From Georgia's early days as a largely agrarian state with a modest population to its modern-day status as a national and international force in business, industry, and politics with a population of almost 10 million, the Institute has helped government leaders navigate change and forge strong directions for a better Georgia.

For the first time, University of Georgia students and faculty with interests in human resource management and organizational psychology will have the chance to work with colleagues at Dublin City University (DCU) in Ireland. Vinson Institute faculty member Mark Foster (second from left in photo), who specializes in promotional testing systems, and Charles Lance (far right), UGA professor of psychology, met this summer with representatives of DCU’s Human Resource Management Group to establish the new exchange program.

According to Foster, doctoral students will be able to teach and take courses at the host university for a period of up to one year. Faculty may collaborate on research and teach short seminars in their areas of expertise. The Vinson Institute will provide service learning opportunities for DCU students, he adds.
