The Vinson Institute welcomes Ping Shen as its newest International Center Visiting Scholar. Shen is a graduate student in public administration at Shanghai’s Fudan University. Her particular area of interest is local government consolidation, which is a growing trend in such large Chinese cities as Beijing and Shanghai.

During her six-month research stay, Shen will be learning from Vinson Institute consolidation experts, spending time with government officials, and sitting in on classes at UGA’s School of Public and International Affairs. She will also have various opportunities to share her insights about Chinese culture and government.

Fudan University is one of the top three universities in China and has been a partner in the International Center’s China Public Manager Training Program for more than a decade.
