Georgia Highlands College and Georgia Northwestern Technical College are getting new classification/compensation systems with the help of Vinson Institute human resource management specialists.

The work comes as a result of an extensive pay plan overhaul performed by the Institute in 2009 upon the merger of three technical colleges into Chattahoochee Technical College.

Georgia Highlands College, a two-year institution, is experiencing significant growth and needed a consistent pay plan and fresh job descriptions. The work for Georgia Northwestern Technical College represents another merger project (Coosa Valley Technical College and Northwestern Technical College) requiring the development of one job classification/compensation system for all the new institution’s faculty and staff.

In both cases, employee interviews have been completed, job descriptions are under construction, salary survey data has been collected, and jobs have been classified and evaluated.
