PhotoDrs. Yin Hongzhen and Jiang Shiyin, economics professors and researchers from China's Sichuan Administration Institute (SAI), have begun a six-month stint working with Vinson Institute fiscal analysts and finance specialists as visiting scholars in the International Center. The professors will also draw on the resources of the University of Georgia's Department of Economics.

Hongzhen, whose expertise focuses on China's domestic and international economic balance, and Shiyin, who studies regional industrial structure, will work on several projects that they hope will inform their teaching and research. Specifically, they will conduct a comparative analysis of how the United States and China react to inflationary pressure. They will also have opportunities to provide their UGA counterparts with insights into Chinese culture, government, and economic policy.

SAI chose Hongzhen and Shiyin for the International Center program based on the quality of their scholarship and English-speaking skills. They are part of a decade-long faculty/student exchange program between the International Center and SAI.
