Rob Gordon Selected for Leadership Georgia's 2013 Class
Rob Gordon, public service assistant in the Institute's Government Services and Research Division, says meeting a cross-section of up-and-coming Georgians will be one of the benefits he'll reap as a member of Leadership Georgia's class of 2013.
Gordon, who joined the Institute as a public service assistant in 2010, is one of 63 people selected for next year's Leadership Georgia program.
Leadership Georgia selects promising leaders from age 25 to 45 to attend five training sessions in communities throughout the state. The nonpartisan organization, affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, has brought together young business, civic, and community leaders since 1972 to hone their skills and delve into some of the most stubborn problems facing the state.
Gordon, who lists economic development at the top of his areas of expertise, heads a unit that prepares demographic projections and analyses, conducts economic impact studies, and provides fiscal analysis of legislation, programs, and policies. The unit includes the Institute's Applied Demography Program, Tax and Expenditure Data Center, and Fiscal Analysis Program.
One of the oldest leadership training programs in the country, Leadership Georgia counts among its founders longtime UGA professor and administrator J.W. Fanning. Distinguished graduates include Sam Nunn, who was a member of Leadership Georgia's inaugural class and later a U.S. Senator from Georgia.
