State government officials, administrators, and staff can broaden their skill sets and prepare for the future by participating in the Institute's wide-ranging training and development opportunities. Legislators, state agency administrators, and personnel can engage in government-specific training and executive training in classrooms throughout the state or online. The Institute can also customize training to meet specific agency needs.

Leadership Development

State government agencies, departments, and personnel can create a leadership training curriculum customized to their needs by choosing from an array of leadership classes designed and taught by Institute faculty.

Executive Coaching

Government officials can consult one-on-one with the Institute's executive coaching experts to design a strategy for achieving specific professional development goals and enhancing organizational strength.

Financial Management

State finance personnel can learn about governmental accounting and how to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. They can also enroll in our local classes and, if they chose, work toward certification.

Special Topic Workshops

A state agency or department can build its own customized training program to meet specific needs by selecting courses from almost 30 available options covering a wide variety of topics.

Online Courses

Government personnel can choose from a variety of online financial management classes, and staff with managerial responsibilities can enroll in our self-paced online human resources management program.

Management Development Program

Government employees can prepare for roles of greater responsibility by enrolling in the Institute's Management Development Program (MDP). Participants can tailor their training by selecting from our catalogue of MDP classes.

Legislative Development

Through the Biennial Institute, Georgia Legislative Leadership Institute, and Legislative Environmental Policy Academy, legislators can network and explore upcoming issues, receive unbiased background information on a variety of topics, and enhance leadership skills.

Government managers gain valuable insights into their leadership styles and performance through this unique 360-degree assessment instrument focused specifically on the demands of the public sector.

Geographic Information Systems Training

State agency personnel learn how to introduce and operate geographically based technology solutions and streamline processes with customized GIS and ESRI software training by certified ESRI instructors.

Governments and other organizations turn to the Institute for impartial facilitation of large public hearings or smaller strategic planning sessions. The Institute uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure that meetings run smoothly and all viewpoints are heard.
