State Training: Discovering Excel 2007 for a More Powerful Government

Microsoft Office Excel 2007 provides powerful tools and features that you can use to analyze, share, and manage your data with ease. This course is designed to help you transition from Excel 2003 as you explore the new and super-powered functions in Excel 2007 that will enhance the creation and presentation of your financial spreadsheets. Upon successful completion of this course, the participant should be able to understand:

  • how to transition from the traditional toolbar to the ribbon
  • improvements related to formulas, tables and charting
  • semi-automated features such as pivot tables and conditional formatting
  • other improved features including sort and additional capacity

Please note: This is not a class for first time users of Excel. In order to be productive, participants should be able to navigate easily through Excel. Participants should be able to create simple spreadsheets and should be able to complete basic Excel tasks such as formatting cells, and adding and deleting rows. In addition, participants should have some experience in using formulas and/or functions.

Classes will be located in the State Personnel Administration training room located in the Floyd Veterans Memorial Building, Suite 1916 of the West Tower, 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta, GA 30334. The cost is $59 per person.
