Bio:

Walt McBride is the Leadership Development Unit Manager. He is responsible for the management of all leadership development programs for the division. Additionally, he manages the Institute of Government’s continuing education and certificate programs for the Georgia Chapter of the American Public Works Association. He also develops and delivers customized leadership and management development programs.

His previous experience includes positions as a county extension agent, a county manager and a training coordinator for the risk management programs of the Georgia Municipal Association and ACCG, Georgia’s association of counties.

Walt was the 2020 recipient of the Walter Barnard Hill Fellow Award for Distinguished Achievement in Public Service and Outreach, UGA’s highest award in public service and outreach.
