  • The Innovating Georgia’s Workforce Pipeline Conference brought together partners in workforce development, education, business and economic development to learn about promising practices and emerging ideas to build our state’s talent pipeline.

  • Attendees explored strategies for supporting youth as they transitioned from education to career. Attendees heard from national and state innovators, gained additional insights and resources and networked with new partners.

Topics covered

Breakout session topics for the day included:

  • Experiential learning is a proven strategy for connecting young adults to the workplace. This session will feature research and strategies on how to create and replicate high quality experiential learning opportunities for high school students.

  • YouScience, a free career development tool that the State of Georgia offers to all school districts in the state. Learn how to use this tool, which combines interest with aptitude, as a resource in your community’s talent pipeline.

  • Opportunity Youth seeks to engage young adults who are disconnected from the resources and programs that help them to transition from high school to career success. In Georgia, 15.5% of youth who are ages 16-24 are disengaged from school and the labor market and are not enrolled in school, working or seeking work. Learn more about how to invest in youth in your community.

  • Learn more about how successful partnerships among educators, business leaders, economic developers and workforce development professionals can help close the gap.
