About

For more than 80 years, the Vinson Institute has worked with public officials throughout Georgia and around the world to improve governance and people's lives. From Georgia's early days as a largely agrarian state with a modest population to its modern-day status as a national and international force in business, industry, and politics with a population of almost 10 million, the Institute has helped government leaders navigate change and forge strong directions for a better Georgia.

Information for Students in the Roosevelt Scholars Course

In partnership with the UGA Honors Program and the Roosevelt Institute at UGA, the Vinson Institute reserves its spring fellowship positions for select top performing students from the fall Roosevelt Scholars course each year.

The Roosevelt Scholars course provides a comprehensive overview of the public policy process for students at UGA by engaging them in the creation, development, implementation, and analysis of policy ideas.

Those students who excel in this course and demonstrate an enthusiasm for the study of public policy will be considered for places in the fellowship class. Teaching assistants and Vinson Institute faculty will evaluate students throughout the semester to determine their selection.
